Or something. It got kind of weird reviews. I've always wanted to read her but never got around to it. Maybe I'll read that one but avoid this one as it sounds very meh.Sadakohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01164802394129505587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-12885192625014003182009-05-29T15:13:12.399-04:002009-05-29T15:13:12.399-04:00No kidding, that's always a slap in the face. The links between the narrator's emotional state and the "place behind the wall" were so tight that at one point I actually thought the whole thing -- Emily, Hugo, "it," the feral children -- was going to turn out be a hallucination about the narrator's abusive childhood. Glad that turned out not to be true, that's almost as bad as the "Oh, it was ooonly a dream" tack.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-60671313345452325992008-09-08T09:42:00.000-04:002008-09-08T09:42:00.000-04:00jrsm: I'll keep an eye out for it. If you want some GOOD, READABLE science-fiction by her, try 'The Fifth Child'.JRSMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430775461763521797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-13588511838422082332008-09-07T17:16:00.001-04:002008-09-07T17:16:00.001-04:00I knew it!Blog Owner approvalPerhapsI will send yo...I knew it!

Blog Owner approval

Perhaps

I will send you

1984Mr Pineappleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696204287962843200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-44364285206413095282008-09-07T17:16:00.000-04:002008-09-07T17:16:00.000-04:00Send you a book?Why the bleedin' hell would I want...Send you a book?

Why the bleedin' hell would I want to send you a book?

You some sort of free loader?

Ya cheap-skate.

And anyway

With The Krap you read...you would never appreciate the type of highbrow literature of The Pineapples.

I might pinch a book from my 10 year old and send that one to you.

That's more you style

Send me a book?

Bloody Hell

WHAT A NERVEMr Pineappleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08696204287962843200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-90603964451299859482008-09-05T11:55:00.000-04:002008-09-05T11:55:00.000-04:00So that's sort of her style, I guess. So that's sort of her style, I guess. That Hankhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05514310999129694443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8510763115118800825.post-24847655323053253962008-09-05T11:53:00.000-04:002008-09-05T11:53:00.000-04:00I've only read one Doris lessing novel (The Good T...I've only read one Doris lessing novel (The Good Terrorist) and had a similar reaction - it was alright and good-ish in parts but less than riveting..white rabbithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15693920049571164318noreply@blogger.com
